ICT NOVIQ AND METACASE ANNOUNCE ALLIANCE

ICT NoviQ B.V. (ICT) and MetaCase Consulting Oy (MetaCase) have agreed to cooperate officially in the field of Domain Specific Modelling (DSM). The two parties recently signed a ‘Memorandum of Understanding’ to this effect.

The offering of a full service package, varying from consultancy to implementation and maintenance, will allow the ICT NoviQ – MetaCase combination to provide significant added value to the software development process of its clients.

DSM is aimed at improving the productivity of software developers by simplifying the development and maximising the automation of same. The software is graphically specified in a model based entirely on the problem domain. The programme code is then automatically generated from this graphic model. DSM distinguishes itself from Unified Modelling Language (UML) by focussing on a single problem domain. This means an application can be fully and scrupulously designed in less modelling time. Considerable productivity advantages can be realised due to the fact that the complete programme code is subsequently generated automatically.

MetaCase is market leader in the field of DSM support tooling. With its product suite, MetaEdit+, MetaCase has a strong collection of software development tools, which allows the user to gear modelling languages and code generators to their own specific problem domain.

ICT Automatisering sees DSM as an extremely valuable and important development in the field of software development. The company’s consultancy arm, ICT NoviQ, has therefore made DSM one of its focal points.
