ICT AUTOMATISERING ACQUIRES X-TERN BEHEER

07/06/1999

ICT AUTOMATISERING N.V. (ICT) have signed a declaration of intent to take over X-tern Beheer B.V. This takeover suits ICT’s strategy to expand their provision of IT services with the technical automation of administrative processes. The acquisition will make a direct contribution to share profits. ICT will finance the acquisition of all X-tern’s shares completely from their own resources.

The acquisition will greatly expand their business of Technical Automation of administrative processes, which was founded last year with the start of Top Spirit. Just like ICT, X-tern made clear market choices, giving them a clear profile. X-tern’s expertise with Oracle will be a great asset. Not only is there a need for Oracle skills in Production Automation, but the demand for these services is also growing within the Embedded Software segment of Professional Systems & Telecoms. In addition to the already existing product development activities within this segment, ICT is becoming increasingly involved in the automation of total solutions that these clients provide with their products. This total solution means that, in addition to product development around the products of clients in this segment, the infrastructure and back-office part will be covered. ICT’s ability to provide these total solutions contributes further to ICT’s desire to acquire a higher profile on the market. The takeover means that the total number of people working in the field of Technical Automation will increase to 70. This increase will augment their recruiting power and it will be possible to expand this activity further.
