ICT AND RAILCONSULT TO JOINTLY DEVELOP RAIL TRAFFIC CONTROL SYSTEMS

Rotterdam / Utrecht, 25 January 2001 – ICT Automatisering N.V. (ICT) and Holland Railconsult B.V. have signed a letter of intent on exclusive cooperation in the development of rail traffic control systems as of 1 March 2001.  The alliance will enable the two companies to offer their clients total concepts for the automation of rail traffic.

The combination of Holland Railconsult’s specialist know-how in the field of rail traffic control systems and the IT expertise of ICT creates a strong player in the field of rail traffic control systems. The companies have worked together since 1993, realising joint projects such as the development and maintenance of software for rail traffic control systems.  The combine’s biggest client will be Railinfrabeheer, which manages complex systems for Dutch Rail NS.

The competencies of the two companies are extremely complementary and there are very few overlaps. In the transport market, Holland Railconsult is seen as a specialist engineering firm with ample expertise in the field of development and engineering of systems for the safety and management of rail traffic. ICT has both expertise in information technology and extensive knowledge and experience in software development processes and know-how management.

Profile Holland Railconsult

ICT Embedded is the market leader in the field of embedded software, in which it is a supplier of software-related services. ICT Telecom is active in technical development in the market for telecommunications software services, systems integration and network management in the complete design, implementation and integration process. ICT Office focuses on technical services in administrative and information processing processes and is specialised in multi-tier client server and front-office applications. ICT projects are carried out both in-house and at the client’s premises. ICT operates from six offices in Barendrecht, Eindhoven, Deventer, Groningen, Almere and Maarssen.
